Community Groups

Community Groups are the heartbeat of C3 and the primary place we pray you will find real biblical community in the life of our church. Jesus gave His life for ours and community is one way we give our lives away for others. It’s a messy and joy-filled journey when we choose to live life caring for each other. Check out the list of groups below and let us know if we can help you land in a group.

Missions

At Christ Community, we believe that as followers of Jesus Christ we are all missionaries. We view the mission of the church not as something that God has only called vocational missionaries to do across the globe but also as something that God has called each of us to pursue right here in Houston. Because of this, we seek and encourage one another individually, reach neighbors collectively in community groups, and support ministries globally, to reach people with the gospel.

COLLECTIVELY we come together in our missional COMMUNITY GROUPS around Houston for the purpose of reaching our different Houston neighborhoods for Christ together.

C3 Kids

9:45 – Check in begins for all kids. Infants – Pre-K can be dropped off at their appropriate class room.

10:00 – Service begins. Kindergarten – 5th grade students join their families in our worship service and are dismissed before the sermon to attend their class.

11:15 – Service concludes and parents can pick up their children from their class.

C3Kids Ministry exists to come alongside parents as they seek to raise their children to know and love Jesus. Each Sunday in C3Kids, we utilize the Gospel Project Curriculum to teach Biblical truths through worship songs, Bible stories, games, and crafts. We encourage children and families to memorize Scripture, learn catechism through song, and talk about Jesus throughout the course of the week using guided resources from C3Kids.

Gospel Project

Our goal is simple:

We want to show Jesus to kids and families so they grow to be like him and go to tell others about him.

We believe this will be accomplished when:

• Parents and others become followers of Jesus Christ through the gospel.
• C3Kids volunteers partner with parents to teach and model the gospel to children.
• Methods of instruction and interaction are used that are both effective and age-appropriate.

We believe that only the gospel of Jesus Christ can change children, families, neighborhoods, and schools. As we minister to children and families, we are participating in C3’s larger mission to glorify God by making followers of Jesus Christ who are growing and multiplying.

Where Do I Take My Kids On Sunday Morning?

All children should be signed in at our check-in stations. You may begin checking in your kids at 9:45 a.m. Greeters will direct you to the desk, where you will be given a check-in code for each child. You must have this check-in code to enter the C3Kids area and to pick up your child at the end of the service. This number will also be displayed on the screen during the worship service if we need to contact you for any reason. Infants through Kindergarten meet in age appropriate classes downstairs and 1st – 5th Grade attend worship with their families and are dismissed to participate in kids ministry before the sermon. Your child’s classroom is based on their age at the beginning of the school year.

What Should I Bring?

Children from birth to potty training should have a diaper bag or backpack that is clearly labeled. This bag should include plenty of diapers or pull-ups, a weather-appropriate change of clothes, sippy cups or bottles that are clearly labeled, and any formula or breast milk that may be needed. The Zone Leader has labels at the check-in desk where you can label any needed items.

Who Receives Snacks in C3 Kids?

None of our classes are offered snacks except on a rare occasion. If snacks are offered, an allergy alert will be posted at the check-in station. For babies, please bring a bottle along with instructions for when to give it (if required), or make use of our nursing area. Additionally, besides formula/breastmilk, only water is allowed in the classrooms.

What Safety Policies & Procedures Do You Employ?

We perform background checks on every volunteer. Volunteers receive regular training and they wear a C3Kids name tag. For security purposes, parents may not enter the C3Kids area without being escorted by a volunteer.

What About Health Concerns?

We have a 24 hour well policy, which means that children must be free of fever, vomiting, rash, pink eye, head lice, or illness for at least 24 hours before entering the children’s area. ***Please notify us upon check-in if your child has any allergies or special needs. Their specific need or allergy will be printed on their name tag to alert the volunteers working with your child that day.***

What About Older Children?

We believe it is important for children to witness and participate with their parents worshipping Christ and studying their Bible. Therefore, children 6th Grade and up attend church with their parents. We offer student ministry Bible study for middle and high school students each Sunday evening and special events for students throughout the course of the year.

C3 Institute

The C3 Institute exists to equip the mind to transform the heart and lives of our people to the glory of God.

Romans 12: 2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Part of the church’s role in discipleship is to help people learn the truths of God’s word so that it transforms the way we think and live in this broken world.
The Institute consists of numerous classes and seminars offered at various times throughout the year.
